Summer memories

This summer we were able to spend about six weeks back "home" in Wisconsin as we were making the move from Nashville to St. Louis. We had a wonderful time catching up with family and friends. Luckily we were able to spend some time at our favorite place in northern Wisconsin - Grandma and Papa's cabin in Eagle River. The girls LOVE it up there as they are able to swim, fish, hike, sit by the fire, and basically just be kids. As parents, we enjoy watching them, but I think the ones with the biggest smiles on their faces the whole time we are up there are these two:

They spent this weekend up there bringing in the dock and getting things ready for winter.  When we spoke with them they kept saying that whenever they looked out at the dock all they could see was "those girls splashing and jumping".  So, to remind them...here are a few videos to give them their "grandkid fix". The first is of Alex doing the famous dock jump - they did this no less than 200 times while we were there. The second is of Maddie catching her first fish from Papa's boat.  For those of you in the south who have heard us talk about the "cabins" in the last 5 years - here is what we are talking about - not your white, sandy beaches - but our little piece of heaven on earth (you can tell you're from Wisconsin when "up north" is considered a "piece of heaven"!).

So as not to leave my parents out, Nana and Papa, Alex just informed me that she LOVES being at their house. When I asked her why, she said, "because they have cool commercials and we can stay up as late as we want and watch TV when you are not there - seriously, mom, we can!" I'm not sure who to believe on this one. Mom? Dad? - either of you want to correct the record on this one? :)
