Boo!

Tonight the St. Louis Zoo began their annual "Boo at the Zoo" event.  They decorate the zoo with Halloween items, create exhibits like the "Creepy Cavern", "Frightful Forest", and the "Scareousel", and encourage kids to wear their costumes.  Now, if you read my post yesterday, you know that we had no plans of going anywhere, but it just so happened that Nate got home early, we were bored (and, yes we were still in our jammies - it was now 5 pm), and it was a "bootiful" fall night - so we loaded up the "funbus" and headed to the zoo!  We had a great time!
Posing near the entrance.
The girls in their cowgirl costumes (a brilliant idea - they already had everything - I bought the hats for $1.25 each - no touching me financial crisis!).
Their "scared" faces in front of "Boneyard Park".
The Children's Zoo had a show where we got to see some animals - rats, armadillo, sloth, boa constrictor, porcupine, and owl - the girls are here posing on the stage after the fact.

What lazy day wouldn't be complete without a fast food dinner?  Sometimes McDonald's can be heavenly - both in taste and convenience.  Alex actually said that she had "never tasted better food" - hmmmmm.... I take a bit of offense to that. :)

We hope you have a "spooktacular" weekend!  We love and miss you all!!

Look at how fun! Nashville zoo does something like that...although I am not sure what it is like. We are thinking of trying it out next year when Silas is a little older.

I've always wanted to go to the St. Louis zoo.
